What is integrative psychotherapy?
Integrative psychotherapy is a therapeutic approach that combines different schools of thought and techniques within psychology to adapt to each individual's needs. Instead of using a single model, the therapist integrates tools from various approaches to offer more comprehensive and personalized support.
Why choose an integrative approach?
Each person is unique, and emotional difficulties can have multiple causes. The integrative approach allows the therapeutic process to be adapted to each case, combining strategies that have proven useful in different schools of psychology.
What tools are used in integrative psychotherapy?
Depending on the situation and the person's goals, tools from different psychological approaches can be used, for example: Reflection and emotional exploration techniques Strategies for understanding thought patterns Tools for improving emotional regulation Self-awareness exercises Strategies for improving relationships and connections Combining these tools allows us to address both the symptoms and the underlying causes of the distress.
Do I need to have a specific problem to start therapy?

What is the first session like?
The first session is a space for us to get to know each other and understand what brings you to therapy. It's also an opportunity for you to ask questions and learn about my approach.
How often are the sessions held and how long do they last?
In most cases, sessions are held once a week and last approximately 50 minutes. The frequency can be adjusted according to each person's needs and progress.
What age groups do you work with?
I currently work with young people aged 15 and up, and adults of all ages. The therapeutic space is designed to support personal, emotional, and growth processes during these stages of life.
Are the sessions confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is a fundamental principle of psychological practice. Information shared during sessions remains private and protected by professional secrecy, in accordance with current Uruguayan regulations, including Law No. 18.331 on the Protection of Personal Data, as well as the ethical principles that govern the professional practice of psychology. However, there are exceptional situations in which confidentiality may be limited, for example, when: There is a serious and imminent risk to the life or safety of the person or third parties. There are situations of violence, abuse, or violation of rights, especially when they involve minors or people in situations of particular vulnerability. A competent judicial authority requests it within the framework of a legal process. In these cases, any action is taken always with the aim of protecting the safety and well-being of the people involved and respecting the corresponding legal and ethical framework.
What are affirmative therapies?
Affirmative therapies are a therapeutic approach that recognizes, respects, and validates the diversity of identities, orientations, and life experiences. Within this framework, therapy seeks to create a safe space where each person can explore their identity and emotional well-being without judgment or attempts at "correction," promoting authenticity and self-care.
What is therapeutic support for older adults?
Therapeutic support for older adults is a form of professional assistance that aims to improve quality of life, promote autonomy, and offer emotional support at different stages of aging. It can include conversation sessions, cognitive stimulation, support during periods of change, and assistance in coping with loneliness, grief, or life transitions. It is usually provided in person, either at the person's home or in other locations where support is needed, thus fostering close companionship within their everyday environment.
How does therapeutic support differ from psychotherapy?
Although both can provide emotional support, psychotherapy is a structured clinical process focused on in-depth work on psychological issues, while therapeutic support typically centers more on daily assistance, presence, and promoting well-being in daily life. In some cases, both forms of support can complement each other.
What is NOT therapeutic support?
Therapeutic support does not replace psychotherapy or medical or psychiatric care when these are needed. Nor is it home care or basic assistance. Its main objective is to provide emotional support, containment, and guidance in personal processes, promoting autonomy and well-being.

Are the sessions in person or online?
Currently, all Integrative Psychotherapy and Affirmative Therapies sessions are conducted online, allowing greater flexibility and convenience in accessing the therapeutic space from various locations. Therapeutic support sessions for older adults are the only modality offered in person and are held within the department of Montevideo. If, during the process, I believe that a situation might benefit from in-person psychotherapy, I will inform you and, if necessary, refer you to a trusted colleague who can provide that type of support.
